Dispensing Drops to Experiment Plates

Dispensing with Rock Maker is a simple process once you know the steps to follow. If you have any trouble with robot integration, please contact support by emailing support@formulatrix.com or by calling the number at the bottom of the help file and selecting option 2. Please note that there may be more specific instructions for dispensing within the help file of the dispensing robot, especially if it is a Formulatrix product. However, each dispense begins with the process outlined below.

To dispense plates from Rock Maker:

 
  1. Open the Dispense tab by clicking the Dispensing button on the Home tab.
  2. In the Dispense Queue, select one or more plates for dispensing.
  3. Right-click the selected plates and select Move to Run Queue.
  4. Click the Dispensing InstructionsDispensing instructions contain information to help you set up a dispensing robot with ingredients, protein formulations, plates, and other items needed for dispensing. Dispensing Instructions are tailored for each dispensing session. It’s a good idea to print the Dispensing Instructions page and keep it handy when setting up your robot. sub-tab at the bottom of the Dispensing tab. Using the instructions presented, make sure your dispensing robot is set up properly and that the Rack Editor has been configured.
  5. In the Run Queue, right-click and select Dispense All.
  6. Select an option for ingredient discovery from the Ingredient Discovery list.

Note: Rock Maker will show an error message when you try to move the experiment from the Dispense Queue to Run Queue if the robot selected at the time of the experiment preparation is not connected to the system. In this case, you shall have to select a different Dispensing Robot in the Experiment Tab of that experiment.

  1. Click OK.
